ZWAT is an Outfit for Jim Hossler featured in Back 4 Blood.
The name ZWAT is an allusion to SWAT (special weapons and tactics), which is a generic term for a police tactical unit that uses specialized or military equipment and tactics. The exact meaning of ZWAT is currently unknown.
VOLTA was commissioned by Turtle Rock Studios to design the Outfit, with Antonio Medeiros being responsible for the realization in 3D.
In order to satisfy the unlock condition for this Outfit, players have to complete all Campaign Missions from Act 1 through 4 on Nightmare difficulty as Jim Hossler. Completing Missions on the No Hope difficulty will also count for the progression.
Overview[]
Jim sports a backward-worn gray baseball cap featuring a black silhouette of antlers and the phrase "BUCK OFF". He rocks a rectangular black sunglasses, a full beard, and long, backward-combed hair. Around his neck, Jim wears an arrowhead attached to a leather cord.
He wears a gray t-shirt beneath a navy blue zip sweater. A red and yellow crosshair patch is sewn onto the right upper sleeve, while a rectangular black patch adorns the left upper sleeve. The left forearm is equipped with a black protector, and Jim sports a silver-colored ring on his left ring finger. Over the zip sweater, he dons a green utility vest with front-loaded ammunition pockets. Additionally, he carries what appears to be a Personal Role Radio (PRR) radio device with a US flag patch on the front pocket. Cables extend from the PRR radio device over Jim's right shoulder and across his back, with another cable extending over his left shoulder, connecting to the device.
On his back, Jim carries a sand-colored backpack featuring a yellow patch reading "IT'S HUNTIN TIME" and an emblem displaying a white bear pawprint with a white circular border. Two rifle cartridges are attached to the MOLLE system. A blue rope with two carabiner hooks is affixed to the left side of the backpack.
Around Jim's waist, a green combat belt holds various magazine pouches and two large rectangular pockets. He wears a light gray cargo pants cinched with a green belt, featuring a black pistol holster mounted on his right thigh. Jim protects his knees with green hard plastic knee guards adorned with a camouflage pattern on the padding. For footwear, Jim opts for combat boots in a faded grayish-brown shade.
