Overview[]

This article deals with the various Status Effects that can either positively or negatively affect the Cleaners. The main aspect of this article is to give players the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the various icons that the game visually displays. Therefore, certain status modifications that do not generate an icon in the player's HUD, such as Food Cards, will be omitted.

Beneficial Effects are there to help the Cleaners. They are mostly granted by Cards but can also be activated by various Perks that are innate from the Cleaners themselves. Detrimental Effects on the other hand are there to prevent Cleaners from progressing. They range from causing damage to limiting abilities and making the Missions harder. They can be caused by Corruption Cards, Cultists, Common Ridden, and Mutations.

Belligerent Belligerent Campaign • Trial of the Worm:
Gain a stacking 4% increase to Damage each time a Horde is called up to 6 stacks. (30 second cooldown between Hordes.)
Stacks are reset when a Cleaner is incapped or killed.

Berserker Berserker Campaign • Trial of the Worm:
Each Melee kill grants 5% Melee Damage, 5% Melee Speed, and 5% Move Speed for 4 seconds.

Swarm:
Each Melee kill grants 5% Melee Damage, 5% Melee Speed, and 5% Move Speed for 4 seconds.

Bodyguard Bodyguard This icon will be visible in the HUD for players who are in the effect radius of the card user.

Campaign • Trial of the Worm:
When a teammate within 5 meters is attacked, you instead receive 75% of that damage.
Can trigger once every 5 seconds.

Breakout Breakout The effect can also be granted by either Evangelo's Cleaner Perk Born Survivor or via the usage of the Slippery When Wet Burn Card.

Cleansing Fire Cleansing Fire Campaign • Trial of the Worm:
Gain a stacking + 5% Damage Resistance every second you're on fire, for a maximum 5 stacks lasting for 15 seconds.

Fire removes most negative status effects.

When you or your team kills a Mutation gain 1% damage (up to 15%) until the end of the level.

Reduce incoming Damage by 1 for nearby teammates for 7 seconds.

Begin marking nearby Mutations every 7 seconds. Gain 20% chance to negate damage while active.

Experimental Stun Gun (recharging) Experimental Stun Gun (recharging) This icon will be displayed whenever the Bash enhancement effect is recharging. Once the cooldown has ended it will return back to it's white counterpart unless the player is taking damage.

Noxious Fumes (Buff) Noxious Fumes (Buff) Increases Accuracy, Recoil Control and Reload Speed.

Noxious gas fills the air. Fill up on oxygen at generators found throughout the map before moving forward. Breathing the fumes without oxygen will have increasing negative effects.

Terrifying Hordes Terrifying Hordes Trauma damage over time whenever a Horde is called. In addition, the following negative status effects will be applied: Reduced Damage and Team Damage Resistance, reduced Sprint Efficiency, reduced Stamina Regeneration, and reduced Healing Efficiency. The effect can stack up to 50 times. Can be mitigated by staying close to other players.
Terrifying Hordes Terrifying Hordes Healing over time effect, a resistance to Temporary Health Decay, increased Damage and Team Damage Resistance, increased Sprint Efficiency, increased Stamina Regeneration, and increased Healing Efficiency. The effect can stack up to three times.

The following overview provides a look at the various Status Effects that originate from the enemies that the Cleaners encounter.

Fearsome Bruiser (Fearsome) Bruisers reduce the damage of nearby Cleaners.
Burn Crone (Burn) Burning targets take damage over time but can extinguish the flames to reduce severity.
Smoldering Crone (Smoldering) Sets the target ablaze once the Crone has accumulated several stacks on her target.
Concussive Exploder (Concussive) Cleaners hit by explosion are briefly blinded.
Festering Ridden Festering Ridden Festering Common attacks cause a stacking loss of Stamina and Healing Efficiency. Medkits, First Aid Cabinets, and Seo-yeon's healing ability can remove the effects.
Hocker Pin Hocker Pins the target and deals damage over time.
Hocker Pin (Swarm) Hocker (Swarm) Pins the target. Cleaners automatically break out after 8 seconds.
Toxin Hocker (Toxin) Hocker Pin leaves a toxin that reduces healing received by 50% for 30 seconds.
Sear Lobber (Sear) Ammo on Cleaners caught in the blast radius catches fire and becomes useless. Cleaners lose 10% of their total ammo.
Bait Jar Pusflinger Attracts nearby Ridden to Cleaners covered in the jar's contents and drains a Cleaner's Stamina.
Irritant Reeker (Irritant) Cleaners hit by Reeker explosions also take 25% increased damage for 1 minute.
Viscous Reeker (Viscous) Cleaners hit by Reeker explosions are slowed by an additional 30%.
Pus-Covered Reekers (Pus-Covered) Status effect given is variable depending on what skills are upgraded in Swarm. These effects stack.
Pus-Covered deals 2 damage per second.
Pus-Covered reduces Move Speed by an additional 15%.
Pus-Covered also reduces healing received by 50%.
Pus-Covered also reduces Use Speed, Reload Speed, and Swap Speed by 35%.
Gunk Retch (Gunk) Direct hits from vomit reduces Reload, Swap, and Use Speed by 35%.
Pus-Covered Retch/Shredder (Pus-Covered) Status effect given is variable depending on what skills are upgraded in Swarm. These effects stack.
Pus-Covered deals 2 damage per second.
Pus-Covered reduces Move Speed by an additional 15%.
Pus-Covered also reduces healing received by 50%.
Pus-Covered also reduces Use Speed, Reload Speed, and Swap Speed by 35%.
Bleed Slasher Bleed causes damage over time that increases in severity with each additional stack. Can stack up to ten times.
Pesky Swarmer (Pesky) The Swarm Cloud applies a stacking 10% Use Speed debuff. Can stack up to five times.
The Voracious enhancement can improve the effect which causes Pesky to lasts until the end of the Mission or until a Bandage, First Aid, or First Aid Cabinet is used.
Fear Aura Tallboys (Fear Aura) This trait can be unlocked by having Tallboy's Utility 4 upgraded in Swarm.
Tallboy variants reduces the damage of nearby Cleaners by 20%.
Scorch Wailer (Scorch) Gas Sacs set players on fire. Burning targets take damage over time but can extinguish the flames to reduce severity.
