Ammo (formally ammunition) is the material fired, scattered, dropped or detonated from any weapon in Back 4 Blood. Ammo piles can be found scattered throughout the levels. Also ammo can be purchased from vendor for 50 coppers.
Ammunition can be broken up into four categories called "pistol/SMG", "rifle", "sniper", and "shotgun".

- At the beginning of a run Cleaners start with full ammo. Veteran, Nightmare & No Hope have equal ammo and max. limit, while the Recruit difficulty has 60% more.
- Ammo spawns randomly throughout the level both on the ground and ammo caches.
- Ridden have a small chance of dropping ammo when killed while using certain cards.
- Hoffman has a chance to find ammo when killing Ridden.
- Ammo can be bought at the vendor for 50 copper to refill 25% of your max ammo.
- Ammo Pouch grants 25%/50%/75%/100% of your max ammo for all ammo types when used.
- The Saferoom Recovery card restores 10% ammo at the start of each level.
- Players can drop ammo from their inventory in order to help teammates who are running out. Bots will drop ammo to human players below 60% of their currently used weapons with a short cooldown.
