Sentinels are heavily-mutated colonies of worms that behave as a single organism. Although capable of movement, sentinels generally stay in one place, defending their territory with sticky-bombs, parasitic swarms, or floating “wailer” mines. Stun them with flashbangs to expose their weak spots.

Sentinels are heavily-mutated colonies of worms that behave as a single organism. Although capable of movement, sentinels generally stay in one place, defending their territory with sticky-bombs, parasitic swarms, or floating “wailer” mines. Stun them with flashbangs to expose their weak spots.[1]

Overview[]

Unlike other Mutation families, the Sentinal family consists of only three Mutation variants: the Lobbers, the Swarmers as well as the Wailers. In addition, there is no Mutation, which carries the name Sentinel. This name only refers to the collective of the three Mutations and serves as a family or collective term for these species.

Journal entry[]

A journal entry about the Sentinel family has been shared on December 12th, 2022.[2]
Although the official Back 4 Blood 𝕏 account named Holly Forrester as the author of the journal, the initials "H. P." do not match Holly's initials "H. F.". It can be assumed that this information is incorrect because, moreover, even her handwriting does not match her own journal.

Subject:

"Sentinel"

- Variants: Wailer, Swarmer, Lobber

Wailer — Lays gaseous sacs in prime hunting grounds
— Spews gaseous sacs at prey
— Appears to be fully immobile
(Is it truly stationary, or just prefers not to move?)

Gaseous sacs "wail" while airborn

Swarmer — Expels a swarm to chase down targts
— Same swarms as Breakers??
(Need a larval sample to verify)
YUCK, those holes make my skin crawl!

Lobber — Creates incendiary projectiles
— Coagulated mucus combusts upon impact.
*(Note that all Sentinel variants use a base to stand their ground)
So...A nightmare-fuel trebuchet? H. P. about the Sentinel family
