Back 4 Blood Wiki

The Harbinger is a powerful Boss Ridden introduced in the River of Blood Expansion Pack and is the final boss of Act 6. The beast bears similarities to the Abomination and just like the Abomination dwarfs even the Ogre in size.

Stages[]

Similar to the Abomination, players will fight the Harbinger in 3 stages, each with their own challenges.

In stage 1, players can witness the Harbinger devouring an Ogre when it notices the Cleaners and attacking them afterwards. In this stage, it uses its acid ball attack to fire at the group while other Ridden and Cultists support it. To defeat it, players must target the weak point it will expose whenever it attacks. It should be noted that the Harbinger is surrounded by biomass and acid. If players fall off the stand, they will be trapped in the acid below and will not be able to escape.

Stage 2 is where players get much closer to the Harbinger, in this stage it can use physical attacks to knock players away. In addition, it also has a new attack where it launches huge spikes. However, the arena is filled with plenty of cover to dodge the attacks, and this is the only stage where players don't have to worry about getting trapped under the stands, given that it's at ground level. Just like in stage 1, the Harbinger gets enraged and breaks the way to phase 3.

During stage 3, the players must deplete 3 of the Harbinger's health bars. The attack pattern remains mostly the same as in stage 2, but the Harbinger will use some new physical attacks. This stage is preceded by a respite from combat, during which the group must save Derek. With each depleted health bar the Harbinger gets more enraged and the ceiling becomes more and more unstable. Once all the health bars are depleted it will stop attacking and a timer will start to escape before the stadium collapses.

Notes[]

  • The Harbinger is the second largest Ridden in the game second only to the Abomination.
  • While the Harbinger makes It's first physical appearance in River of Blood it's true first appearance is as far back as the beginning cutscene of Children of the Worm.
