Dan is one of the twelve playable Cleaner in Back 4 Blood who has been introduced with Children of the Worm, the second expansion that got released on August, 30 2022.
For Back 4 Blood's Campaign mode, Dan is available exclusively for owners of the second expansion. Players who want to play this Cleaner in Swarm mode will have to complete five Swarm matches before Dan becomes available to them.
Official description[]
Driven by an insatiable divine fury, the "Prophet" smites Ridden wherever they fester. Along his blood-stained exodus, he gained followers who endured his delusional rants in exchange for protection against the Ridden. But there are some things that not even the “Prophet” can smite on his own. Recently shadowy assailants ambushed him, leaving him for dead as they dragged away his followers for reasons unknown. Now he will stop at nothing to save his flock and cleanse this world of the horrors that plague it.[2]

Appearance[]
Dan's overall outfit is reminiscent of a homeless man and his outfit is a mixture of various run down clothes.
He has shaved his head and wears a mustache and beard stubble in the chin area. His blue jacket is missing the right sleeve and the other sleeve has been given a leather patch at the elbow. The collar is decorated with the white lettering Peter 4:12, a shamrock, the Irish flag, a playing card, and a withered plant. underneath his jacket, Dan is wearing a green and orange striped wool sweater. He has made-shift gloves for his hands by using scraps of cloth. On his back, Dan has a green backpack with a flask stowed in its left side pocket.
The worn and hole-ridden jeans have been mended with a large patch on the left thigh. As footwear Dan wears a worn brown leather boot on his right foot and his left shoe is a red and white vintage basketball shoe.

- Dan uses a screwdriver as his melee weapon of choice.
- On Dan's collar there is a flag of Ireland patch and a pin of a clover, hinting at Irish ancestry.
- On Dan's collar there is a reference to Peter 4:12, which reveals the following passage from the Bible:
