The Contagious Disease Response (CDR) was a national health agency for the United States tasked with researching, combating and providing aid against harmful diseases and pathogens. During the Devil Worm outbreak and the subsequent rise of the Ridden, the agency, aided by the U.S. military, was tasked with finding a cure for the pathogen and providing medical relief to the general public. During the events of Back 4 Blood, the fate and current state of the agency is unknown, although it is implied that the agency collapsed during the Collapse.
